The defender is set to sign for United today following the club’s announcement at the weekend they had agreed a fee with Benfica.
Lindelof will cost United £31million, with Jose Mourinho having chased the 22-year-old for some time.
And his switch is expected to be confirmed today after he and his agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, drove in to Carrington this morning in a red Chevrolet Corvette.
Sweden star Lindelof flew over from Norway, having been an unused substitute in their 1-1 friendly last night.
He is now set to undergo the formalities in Manchester with a medical and a contract to be penned.
On Lindelof’s move to United, Sweden team-mate and Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson said: “He can play anywhere and is an incredibly good footballer.
“It’s not about the league when you play in such a big team, it doesn’t matter.
“He has played in the Champions League and against France [for the national team].
“The rules are the same, so it will be the same.”
Lindelof is likely to be followed by the signing of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
A medical is also being planned for him this week, with Mourinho bolstering his squad quickly ahead of next season.
The centre-half’s arrival though is bad news for Chris Smalling.
Express Sport understands Manchester United are now willing to sell the England international for £12million.
