BERNARD Tomic has surged to a confidence-boosting win at Eastbourne, reaching only his second quarter-final of the season with victory in Eastbourne over Mischa Zverev.

Tomic produced quality grasscourt tennis to dispatch sixth seed Zverev 6-3 6-3.

It is only the second time in 14 tournaments this season Tomic has strung together successive wins.

The talented Queenslander clashes with Frenchman Gael Monfils in the quarter-finals.

Tomic’s vin came as Melbourne teenager Destanee Aiava stormed into the final round of Wimbledon qualifying.
