“We are very sad about it [the attacks] and send our condolences to those affected.
“It is a sorry state of affairs but we will keep playing cricket and be defiant in the face of it,” said the fast bowler, called into the England squad ahead of their second Champions Trophy match against New Zealand tomorrow.
“Hopefully we can put a smile on people’s faces here on Tuesday.”
England’s players firmly believe security arrangements in place for the tournament are robust enough to keep players and crowds safe.
Several were indirectly affected by the events near London Bridge and Borough Market after police threw up a cordon which restricted movement around their Tower Bridge hotel.
Mark Wood and Liam Plunkett were unable to pick up cars in order to make the journey to Cardiff for their second Group A clash against New Zealand on Tuesday.
But Finn said players are confident it is safe for the tournament to continue even if it is to be from behind a “ring of steel”.
“We have been briefed on how we are going to be protected and are very comfortable that there is a ring of steel around us so that everyone in the ground will be safe.”
The ICC ruled out taking more drastic action including a postponement.
