In a repeat of the 2009 US Open final, Del Potro will be hoping to upset the odds once again when he takes on Federer who has returned to his best form this year.
The Swiss maestro has won both Grand Slams he has competed in this year – Wimbledon and the Australian Open.
Del Potro meanwhile has only even reached the last four of a Grand Slam on three occasions throughout his career and hasn’t done so since Wimbledon in 2013.

1:30am: We’re not far away from the final quarter-final of the men’s draw with Madison Keys breezing into the semi-finals after beating Kaia Kanepi 6-3, 6-3 in just over an hour and what a match it should be. Federer will want to avenge his 2009 final defeat while Del Potro has nothing to lose but everything to gain.
