Real Madrid contact Man Utd with Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba transfer bombshells

Real Madrid and Manchester United’s transfer relationship has deteriorated ever since David De Gea’s failed move to the Bernabeu in 2015.

On that occasion, the Red Devils angered their La Liga counterparts by refusing to file the paperwork on time – in an act that consequently forced a deal to fall through.

At the moment, Martial and Pogba are facing uncertain Manchester United futures with their relationship with Jose Mourinho in the spotlight.

And the Manchester Evening News say the duo are in Real Madrid’s sights ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is said Los Blancos have an interest in Martial, despite his popularity with United fans.

The France international was signed from Monaco back in 2015 and scored 17 goals under Louis van Gaal’s tutelage.

However, he has been unable to deliver on a regular basis since Mourinho swaggered into town a year later.

Martial has had his moments this season – a late winner against Tottenham stands out – but is yet to score since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival in January.

The MEN say, though, Real are also sniffing around Pogba.

The Red Devils famously beat Los Blancos to Pogba’s signature during the summer of 2016, despite months of the player being tipped to move to the Bernabeu.

And Real are still keen with Pogba, like Martial, struggling to earn Mourinho’s trust.

Speaking recently, though, the 25-year-old insisted he had no issues with Mourinho.

“There is no problem with Mourinho,” the former Juventus star said.

“It’s not me who picks the team. Ask the coach if you want to know why I play less.

“I respect his choices. It’s true [being benched] has never happened to me, but it can strengthen me. You have to go through these periods to make you stronger.”
