FLOYD Mayweather Jr has had his brand new $ 34 million Beverly Hills mansion broken into while the boxer was out of the country.
Police in California are investigating the incident which was first reported Wednesday morning Australian time.
Beverly Hills Police said in a statement released on Thursday that Mayweather’s home — which he purchased after his win over Conor McGregor — was burglarised sometime in the last week.
Mayweather purchased the 15,000 square foot mansion in September after his historic money making fight against UFC superstar McGregor.
Only two days ago Mayweather posted several images of himself posing on the Great Wall of China, all the while spruiking about a monster pay packet for the travels.
Police say luggage, sunglasses and other accessories were taken. They didn’t provide an estimate of the value of the items.
Police also said the investigation was ongoing and no arrests have been made.
“No suspect information is available and the suspect(s) remain outstanding,” Beverly Hills police spokesperson Elisabeth Albanese said in a statement.
“Because this is an active investigation, no additional details are available for release at this time.”
Mayweather is the latest athlete to have his home targeted by burglars.
Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig had jewellery stolen from his California home during Game 7 of the World Series earlier this month.
Venus Williams lost $ 520,000 worth of goods from her Florida home while at the US Open in September and Seattle Mariner’s pitcher Felix Hernandez was targeted in a Seattle burglary ring in January that cost him $ 1.5 million.
Former NBA player Derek Fisher had $ 395,000 worth of jewellery stolen in January while Golden State Warriors guard Nick Young had $ 650,000 worth of valuables stolen in March.
