SHE created history by dunking at the London Olympics and now 203cm basketball star Liz Cambage has pulled off the spectacular play again in a show stopping performance in the US.
Just a week after the Wings centre produced a record-breaking 53-point game for a WNBA individual scorning milestone against New York Liberty, Cambage has produced a rare dunk in an All Star game.
Cambage had the crowd on its feat as the towering Australian basketball star finished the game with the big play.
Cambage earned her place as a starter for LA Sparks forward Candace Parker’s All Star team thanks to her WNBA scoring record and one of the best weeks of her career where she averaged 34 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks to set a second WNBA record for most points in back-to-back games with 88.
When Cambage joined American Sydney Flames player Jen Hamson in the 2017/2018 WNBL competition, it was hoped one of the two would become the first woman to dunk in the Australian women’s basketball league but neither achieved the feat.
Cambage attracted world headlines when she became the first player to dunk in women’s Olympic competition in London.
Cambage was one of 22 WNBA players selected for the All Star clash – one lead by Elena Delle Donne and the other by Parker.
Parker’s team won 119-112.
