Lewis Hamilton: Mercedes man talks Red Bull and Ferrari 2018 challenge

Hamilton was dominant once again this season, clinching his fourth world title at the Mexican Grand Prix.

The triumph was his third as a Mercedes driver after quitting McLaren in 2013.

Although Red Bull have seen Sebastian Vettel clinch back-to-back crowns in recent years and Daniel Ricciardo progressing last season, Hamilton doesn’t fear a challenge from Mercedes’ closest rivals next year.

“The greater the pressure on me, the more critical the situation, the better it is for me,” Hamilton told German paper Stuttgarter Zeitung.

“Mercedes is in great shape right now and I don’t see anything that could change that.”

Hamilton meanwhile, put paid to the idea that he would ever consider joining Ferrari.

He said: “No, I am proud to be at Mercedes.

“I cannot imagine that will change.

“In life one should never say never.

“But I hope I finish my career in a Silver Arrow.”
