Boateng is set to sign for Barcelona on loan from Sassuolo until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old is wanted to provide competition for Luis Suarez up top, with the Catalan giants also seeking a replacement for Munir El Haddadi, who has joined Sevilla.
Barcelona are reportedly set to sign Boateng and the player himself has confirmed his move to the Nou Camp.
And, in doing so, he also outlined a desire to score against Real Madrid in the next Clasico showdown between the two sides.
“Barca, I’m coming!” he told Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“I’m sad to leave Sassuolo but is a great chance.
“Don’t ask me about Real Madrid… it is just the past!
“I only want to focus on Barcelona and I hope to score at Bernabeu for the next Clasico.”
Boateng had previously claimed he could have joined Real Madrid.
But the Ghana international believed his arrogance had cost him the chance to play for a top La Liga side.
“In my opinion, without meaning to come across as arrogant, I could have played for Real Madrid,” he said.
“But I didn’t do enough to achieve that.
“However, I have reached a point where I am relaxed and satisfied with my career.”
