SATURDAY’S Group One Queensland Oaks meeting has been moved to Doomben due to the dire state of the Eagle Farm track.
Racing Queensland confirmed the decision on Monday morning following damning criticism of the Eagle Farm’s heavy surface on the weekend by punters, jockeys and trainers.
Leading jockey Kerrin McEvoy said the track was the worst he had ridden on and some trainers complained of their horses pulling up distressed.

The Oaks will be shortened to 2200m from 2400m and the Moreton Cup (1300m to 1200m), the Lightning Handicap (1000m to 1050m), the Spear Chief Handicap (1500m to 1600m) and the Phoenix (1500m to 1350m) will also have their distances changed.
Nominations for all races were extended to 4pm on Monday as discussions continued over the fate of Saturday week’s Stradbroke Handicap which is also a chance of being switched.
