ANDREW Bogut and the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a contract buyout, with the Australian big-man being placed on waivers.

According to The Vertical’s Shams Charania, Bogut praised 76ers head coach Brett Brown, but had the desire to be released from his contract in order to join a contender.

Once Bogut becomes an unrestricted free agent — on Thursday, March 2 (AEDT) — he will consider four teams: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Boston Celtics.

Over the next 24 hours, Bogut will have conversations with the general managers and head coaches of those teams, according to Charania.

The Cavaliers are the favourite to land the centre, but both The Vertical and USA Today report that he’ll weigh his options before making a decision.
