Barcelona News: Ernesto Valverde will sell flop Paco Alcacer after Luis Suarez returns

Barcelona boss Valverde handed Alcacer the chance to shine at the start of the season following Luis Suarez’s knee injury.

Alcacer started in the 2-0 win over Real Betis but was withdrawn before full time and stated the subsequent match at Alaves on the bench.

Suarez is now back to full fitness and, with Ousmane Dembele adjusting to list in Barcelona, Alcacer has dropped back down the pecking order.

The 24-year-old only arrived at Barcelona last summer after five years with Valencia.

But reports in Spain claim he is already set to leave the Nou Camp.

That is according to Spanish publication Sport, who claim two Italian clubs are interested in signing the forward.

Both Inter Milan and Napoli have expressed their interest in Alcacer, who has not scored in La Liga since April.

Inter endured a quiet transfer window in the shadow of their big-spending neighbours AC Milan and manager Luciano Spalletti has just Eder and Mauro Icardi to play up front this term.

Napoli, who have started the season with three wins from three, may lose Lorenzo Insigne to one of Europe’s elite sides in January.

Sport claim Barcelona, who spent £27.6million on Alcacer only last summer, are open to offers in the New Year.

They were hoping to sell him during the summer but no suitable bids were launched.
