Arsene Wenger has yet to commit his future to Arsenal with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
The 67-year-old has faced strong opposition from supporters, calling for him to leave the Emirates.
However, the Daily Mirror claim he has every intention of staying in north London and has already begun laying out his summer transfer plans.
The report says Wenger will sign a new deal – either for one of two years – and has set his sights on bringing in Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel.
The Arsenal boss reportedly wants more competition for Petr Cech in goal with questions marks surrounding current No 2 David Ospina.
And Schmeichel is said to fit the bill, having kept 10 clean sheets this season in all competitions for the Foxes.
Speaking to broadcaster BeIN Sports yesterday, Wenger revealed his short-term plans with the Gunners.
The manager remained tight-lipped over his contract situation, but he talked up the club’s chances of a top-four finish.
And he pledged to give his all to the side for as long as he remains in charge.
“The information is that I do not have any information to give,” Wenger said.
“Regardless of how long I stay, I will be devoted and completely concentrated as long as I stay at the club for.
“In terms of how long is left, that is not important. I will always bring myself to do the best for the club.
“At the moment, we are dealing with a difficult period in terms of results and it is important to concentrate on ourselves to do better again.
“When you take time to reflect and to put things into perspective you see that we have two games in hand to play and a cup semi-final to prepare for.
“Our season will be decided by the way in which we respond to this difficult period.”
