Aaron Ramsey reacts to Arsenal’s FA cup win over Manchester City

Arsenal progressed to the FA Cup final with an extra-time 2-1 win over Manchester City this afternoon.

In a season where they have been humiliated in the Champions League and at risk of missing out on the top four, the FA Cup offers some salvation for them.

Arsenal have an excellent record in the FA Cup, having won two of the last three finals.

Only Manchester United have won as many FA Cups as Arsenal – 12 – and Arsene Wenger’s side have the opportunity to become the most successful club in the history of the competition when they take on Chelsea in the final.

And Ramsey believes Arsenal’s recent success in the cup can stand them in good stead for the match against Antonio Contes side.

“I love this competition,” Ramsey told BBC Radio 5 live.

“We have been quite successful in recent years and you can see the passion that the players play with. We went behind and kept on going and got a result.

“I made the mistake for the goal. I know in these situations you have to respond. I carried on trying to work my socks off and ultimately it paid off.

“That is the second time we played this formation credit, to the boys. We have shown the character we have in this team.”
