Reigns is expected to dethrone Lesnar who has been Universal Champion since last year’s WrestleMania where he beat WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg for the belt.
WWE will present this bout as the passing of the torch to The Big Dog but the fans’ reaction could be negative as they have yet to accept the ex-Shield star as the top guy.
Lesnar also looks set to leave WWE and rejoin UFC after Mania.
According to Ringside News, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live claims the Universal title match will close the show tonight in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Alvarez said earlier this week: “As of yesterday, the match that will close WrestleMania will be Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns.”
Of course, there could still be a change of plans.
It was initially expected that Ronda Rousey’s debut would be the main event.
Rousey will team up with former Olympian Kurt Angle to take on on-screen RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and 14-time world champion Triple H.
Another match that could close the show is AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura.
Styles will put the WWE Championship on the line against former NJPW rival Nakamura, who won the men’s Royal Rumble match.
