WWE news: AJ Styles makes HUGE statement ahead of WrestleMania 34

Despite many fan polls showing Styles as the most talented grappler in the globe and the fact that he is the WWE Champion, he insists he still has a lot to learn.

The Phenomenal One made an unforgettable debut two years ago at the Royal Rumble and went on to win two world titles and beat some of the business’ biggest names, such as John Cena, Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose.

But when asked by Sky Sports if he believes he’s the company’s number one, he said: “No, I would not agree with that.

“I think there’s still a lot to be learned by AJ Styles and you can’t consider yourself to be the best when you’ve still got so much stuff to learn.”

Styles is a 20-year veteran who made a name for himself in the US and Japan but only joined the WWE in 2016.

Some of his finest work arguably took place at TNA where he stayed for 11 years and won a total of five world titles.

The ex-US Champion also had some unforgettable feuds with the likes of Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Sting.

Despite his enormous success in various promotions, Styles thought he would never get to compete for WWE.

He added: “There was never really that window of opportunity.

“You get in this business because you believe in yourself and I always saw myself being in the main event of WrestleMania at some point.

“But as it got later in my career I started to think I may never get that chance, that I may never be in WWE.

“Sometimes it doesn’t happen and you learn to live with it. I had learned to live with it and I was living with it, I guess. I’d been successful in a lot of places I’d been.

“I was okay with that. But having been in WWE and being the WWE champion, it’s very exciting and I’m really looking forward to WrestleMania. I can’t wait. There’s nothing bigger than the WWE.”

Styles is set for a huge WrestleMania 34 dream match against Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura on April 8 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
