WATCH: Video of baggage handlers HURLING suitcases at Luton Airport sparks OUTRAGE

Ever wondered why your bag looks a bit battered after a flight?

Shocking footage captured at London Luton Airport may provide the answer.

Baggage handlers were caught on camera throwing suitcases from a conveyor belt onto a truck.

The bags are hurled wildly, with some shown bouncing out of the vehicle and onto the ground.

The two men on film can clearly be seen throwing and kicking the cases, and at least two fall onto the tarmac below.

The luggage was being transported from an EasyJet flight onto transport on Luton Airport’s runway.

Evidence of the handlers’ scant regard for travellers’ possessions was recorded by passenger Jonas Ozolins on March 13.

The video has since been viewed thousands of times, with viewers outraged by the handlers’ behaviour.

The baggage handlers in question are employees of Menzies Aviation – the contract to hire them was awarded by EasyJet.

“Menzies Aviation considers the safe conveyance of passengers’ luggage to be a matter of the highest importance,” a spokesperson from Menzies said.

“The behaviour displayed in this video is unacceptable, and an investigation is already underway.

“We will take whatever action is necessary to ensure that such behaviour is stopped, and our professional standards are upheld properly in future.”

An EasyJet spokesperson added: “We have been assured by our provider that this is being investigated.

“We work closely with all of our airport partners to ensure our passengers’ bags are handled securely and with care.”

Luton Airport said in a statement: “London Luton Airport (LLA) requires all partner agencies working at the airport to meet our high standards.

“We are working with the ground handling company responsible who have confirmed that an investigation is underway and that they will take any necessary action to prevent such behaviour happening again.”
