There are myriad forces of nature that surfers have to worry about, from wild weather to deep sea predators.
But this board rider was suddenly faced with a man-made problem in the water.
Footage showed the surfer sitting on his board wearing a singlet, board shorts and a cap.
He appeared to be enjoying the serenity of the open water, with it all to himself.
But his peace and quiet was rudely interrupted by an invited visitor.
A remote control (RC) surfer zoomed up to his board, determined to pester him.
The mini-me looked just like a real surfer except for its foot-tall size.
With a case of small surfer syndrome, the electric device circled the real surfer to distract him from the waves.
The man splashed the mini-me to make it go away but it only proved to fuel the gadget’s antics.
Eventually the surfer found a wave and as he stood up, his new rival joined him for the ride.
It completely blocked the man’s clear path along the wave and that proved the final straw.
The surfer reached out in the water and latched onto the RC surfer, before hurling it out in front of him.
Alas the move entirely backfired, with the real surfer falling off his board behind the wave and the mini version catching it instead.
The amusing video has quickly gone viral since it was shared online.
