WATCH: Passenger threatened with TASER before being dragged off diverted Qantas flight

The flight from Perth to Brisbane in Australia was forced to turn back to its origin just one hour after takeoff.

Qantas said a 38-year-old man repeatedly failed to follow the instructions of crew.

Once the overnight flight landed back in Perth, Western Australia, Australian Federal Police boarded the plane.

Other passengers began filming as the officers tried to remove the male passenger.

Video showed the man refusing to budge as the police attempted to restrain him.

The officers could be heard yelling: “Taser, taser, taser” as they threatened to use the weapon on the passenger.

Australia’s Federal Police has confirmed the taser was drawn but wasn’t used by the officers.

The officers could also be heard repeatedly saying: “Give us your arm, Luke” and: “Stop resisting”.

Once the passenger was eventually dragged off the flight, the plane was able to takeoff for its intended destination.

Flight QF652 arrived in Brisbane three hours after the plane was scheduled to land.

Australian man Luke Macdonald Taylor faced a court in Perth this morning.

He was charged with with assaulting aircrew and obstructing police.

Mr Taylor was granted bail on a $ 20,000 (£12,165) surety.
