WATCH: Man steers boat into the sea – but leaves bystanders SHOCKED when he does THIS

In the short clip, uploaded to Imgur, the man can be seen sitting in a boat wearing a helmet.

A propellor turns at the back of the boat, and the man holds on to a paraglide

At first it isn’t clear why there is a paraglide attached to the small rubber dinghy.

The man starts the engine and the boat crashes over the waves in the sea.

But after a few seconds, he is flying high above the sky, as the paraglide takes his little boat up into the air.

The video has gone viral, with over 4,800 views.

Commenters were astounded by the footage, with many expressing jealousy at the man’s smart contraption.

One wrote: “I. Want. That.”

Another said: “I want one, I really do. But before I go shopping, how do you actually steer that contraption?”

One said: “That’s BRILLIANT. So simple. So adaptable.”

A few questioned how he would get back down from the sky, and one wrote: “Wonder how the landings go…?”

The video of the flying boat has gone viral as an image of an underwater waterfall in Mauritius was revealed to be an optical illusion.

Mauritius is one of the younger islands on this planet, formed by volcanic activity under the ocean billions of years ago.

The island now sits upon a Submarine Plateau or Ocean Shelf – a region that rises above the ambient seabed level.

According to an expert on kuoni.co.uk, the shelf, which is the largest in the world, is no deeper than 150 metres below sea level.

However, there is also a so called ‘drop-off’, which is the point past the shelf’s edge.
