WATCH: Is THIS the best life-saving invention yet? GENIUS water hack shocks the internet

The incredible invention has been demonstrated on a video which has quickly gone viral.

Titled ‘Remote control buoy’, the clip has been posted to sharing site Imgur.

It shows a red U-shaped buoy being tossed into the water.

Once it has landed, the buoy zooms off all on its own.

The floating device is being operated by a remote control, which requires just a person’s thumb to manoeuvre.

Hailed a game changer in carrying out water rescues, the buoy has the capacity to help save struggling swimmers.

The clip has been viewed more than 539,000 times on Imgur, with viewers quick to point out how clever they think the invention is.

One user said: “That is a great idea.”

Another wondered: “Why wasn’t it invented sooner?!”

Researchers have developed a flame retardant triphenyl phosphate (TPP) that sits inside a shell within the electrolyte fluid.

Once the cell reaches temperatures of 150 degrees celsius the shell melts, releasing the flame extinguishing material.

Testing showed that the fires were put out in as little as 0.4 seconds.

The revolutionary invention comes after Samsung were forced to do a worldwide recall of its Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones which were found to be overheating, while many even set on fire, in 2016.
