Conor McGregor’s boxing skills have been slammed by Manny Pacquiao’s boxing coach, Freddie Roach.
“Well Manny always told he doesn’t like that sport because it’s more like a street fight,” Roach told Fight Hub TV when discussing a possible fight between the pair.
“But it’s a very winnable fight and there’s a lot of money in that fight. It’s kind of like ripping off the world, it wouldn’t be a fair fight. Unless Manny fought by their rules too, that would be a fair fight.
“But if you’re going to do boxing rules, the boxer is going to win 99-and-a-half percent of the time. And I don’t think it’s much of a fight. I’m not a big fan of his.
“He’s not that great a boxer, in my mind. And I think we all saw that.”
Meanwhile, Roach has revealed that he and Georges St-Pierre discussed the possibility of vacating the middleweight title long before he ended up relinquishing the belt.
“The thing was, we discussed it, and I thought he was better off going down to his original weight,” Roach told Fight Hub TV.
“And he agreed. So that’s why (he vacated the title).”
“New things come up all the time and I am not surprised at all. I just feel sorry for him. It’s bad for him, it’s bad for the sport.
“Look, what he did to DC. He’s a beast and nobody has done what he’s done. He’s just getting caught over and over again. It must be something wrong there.
“You just don’t do that if you…he’s just making wrong decisions all the time and I feel sorry for him, basically.”
