“But I think it sounds like in his head, he’s wearing [Bayern] red.”

08.15 UPDATE: Chelsea eye Icardi

Chelsea could follow up their signing of Gonzalo Higuain by targeting his compatriot Mauro Icardi, it has been claimed in Italy.

Chelsea made snaring a striker a priority this month due to Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud’s struggles in front of goal.

Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web report Morata, Giroud and forgotten man Michy Batshuayi will all leave Chelsea.

And that would pave the way for Maurizio Sarri to sign at least one new attacker, with Icardi an option.

07.55 UPDATE: Christian Eriksen battle

Manchester United and Chelsea are gearing themselves up for a summer battle for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

Both clubs have been boosted by the news that Real Madrid are ready to ditch their interest over fears that the Danish international will cost them too much.

The Premier League giants still face interest from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for Eriksen, who has been unable to agree a new deal with Spurs.

The White Hart Lane side have been in talks with his representatives for more than a year in a bid to extend his £75,000-a-week contract, that runs out in June 2020, without success.

Olivier Giroud has a ‘dark future’ at Chelsea following the signing of Olivier Giroud.

“The coach makes Hazard play nine which is detrimental to strikers,” Giroud told Canal, before Higuain officially joined the club.

“But he [Hazard] is the best player I’ve ever played with.

“If the club decides to get another striker, like Higuain, it will certainly darken my future at Chelsea.”
