Liverpool bid rejected
Liverpool have had a £49m bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson rejected.
That is according to the Liverpool Echo, with concerns growing that Real Madrid are on the verge of a deal.
Real themselves are in talks with Roma over a move for the Brazil international.
Liverpool remain hopeful they can snap up Alisson but may need to up their offer in order to get Roma’s attention.
Chelsea and Arsenal battle
Chelsea will enter the race to sign Russia star Aleksandr Golovin with Maurizio Sarri set to be appointed.
That’s what the Evening Standard are reporting with the Blues set to undergo a change of management.
With the Italian in charge, Chelsea will launch a bid to sign CSKA Moscow’s Golovin – who shone in the opening World Cup match for hosts Russia in a 5-0 against Saudi Arabia.
The central midfielder helped himself to scored one goal and laid on two more in Moscow as well as winning the ball at the start of a move for another goal as Russia ran riot.
And the 22-year-old is thought to have attracted a host of suitors, not just due to his performances on the international stage.
Juventus are thought to be particularly keen on Golovin with Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport having suggested that the Serie A side have already submitted an opening bid of around €15million.
De Jong to Barcelona
Ajax youngster Frenkie de Jong is intrigued by the potential opportunity of singing for Barcelona.
De Jong is one of a number of up-and-coming players on the Nou Camp club’s radar according to reports.
Goal claim that initial contact has been made with Ajax, with tentative talks held over the 21-year-old.
The Netherlands U21 international is aware of the rumours and concedes that something could be done.
He said to AT5: “Of course, you can never promise that [staying at Ajax] as a footballer.
“There may be a club tomorrow that offers so much that you are away. But, as it stands, I play at Ajax.
“First, I have to get fit. And just see if I can play football a bit, then we’ll see further.”
Man Utd’s £60m offer
Manchester United will launch a £60million bid to sign Willian from Chelsea.
The Daily Mail say that Mourinho is willing to sanction £60m to sign Willian despite the winger turning 30 in August.
Willian is thought to be at odds with current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, a rift he hinted at with a post to his Instagram story after their FA Cup success last month in which he covered up the Italian boss, and only him, with trophy emojis in their squad photo.
The report does not mention whether Conte’s uncertain future could affect Willian, however, with former Napoli man Maurizio Sarri expected to be named as the new Chelsea manager in a few weeks to come.
Varane to leave Madrid?
Manchester United could land Real Madrid star Raphael Varane this summer if Jose Mourinho tables a bumper bid for the defender.
According to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Mourinho is still keen to land the centre-half this summer.
They reckon Real president Florentino Perez is willing to let Varane head to Old Trafford in the coming weeks, providing Mourinho tables a bumper offer for the defender.
Diario Gol add that new Real boss Julen Lopetegui is also open to selling Varane this summer, for the right price.
Should United land Varane, the France ace would become Mourinho’s third summer signing.
Liverpool deal agreed
Rhian Brewster has agreed a contract with Liverpool that keeps him away from German suitors.
Several Bundesliga teams are reportedly interested in landing the England U17s star.
But the Reds have agreed a five-year deal with Brewster that keeps him on Merseyside until 2023, according to The Telegraph.
Jurgen Klopp was also a key reason for Brewster signing a new deal with the German keen to use him next season.
Daily Mirror reporter David Maddock tweeted: “Jurgen Klopp influential in Brewster decision to stay, despite interest from three German clubs.
“@LFC boss will not sign an out and out striker this summer, in part because he believes in the potential of the 18 year old, who will be promoted to first team squad.”
