The Scouse heavyweight is currently deep into training camp preparing for his long-awaited rematch with David Haye on May 5 At London’s O2 Arena.
But the 35-year-old took time out of his schedule to front Sky Sports’ coverage of AJ’s unification showdown against Parker in Cardiff.
And he was impressed with what he saw from Joshua, complimenting a much-improved technical showing from the former Olympic gold medallist.
“I think I could beat Parker myself,” he told talkSPORT’s Weekend Breakfast show.
“He’s got a good skill set but a good big man will always beat a good little man. Anthony went in there and used his attributes to his advantage – the size, the reach, the power.
“Everything was in Anthony’s favour.
“It’s not fighting. It’s called boxing for a reason.
“Everyone’s going on about how it’s not what we wanted – but you can’t knock everybody out.
“He’s shown he can do the 12 round distance with no problems at all. He hasn’t just done this against an absolute nobody, he’s done this against a fellow unbeaten champion.
“He dominated the fight with a brilliant lead-jab and really good footwork. That was the most impressive thing for me in the fight – his feet were very quick.”
Earlier this week, David Haye’s sparring partner, Malik Scott, revealed the perfect tactical game plan that would allow Bellew to repeat his shock victory over the 38-year-old Bermondsey man.
