Rosie MacLennan tops trampoline podium at nationals

Rosie MacLennan returned to the top of the trampoline podium Saturday at the Canadian gymnastics championships in Oshawa, Ont. 

The defending Olympic champion from King City, Ont., finished with a total of 158.735 points to fend off  Samantha Smith of B.C., who had 156.170 points. Quebec’s Sophiane Methot was third with 155.280.

A visiting Australian contingent dominated on the men’s side with a sweep of the top-four spots.

However, they can’t force Canadians out of the standings, giving Ontario’s Jacob Cranham first with 159.780. Alberta’s Kyle Soehn was the runner-up with 156.795 and B.C.’s Andrew Martin trailed with 156.220.
