REVEALED: Why flight attendants prefer serving ECONOMY class instead of first class

Flight attendants have a tricky job, attempting to serve the hundreds of passengers onboard as well as deal with nervous or disruptive fliers.

It recently emerged just how dangerous the job could be, with many reporting assaults from drunken passengers.

However, others have recently revealed that despite the supposed richer clientele, they prefer serving in economy class rather than first class.

Some of the reasons are very surprising.

Speaking via online forum Quora, many flight attendants took to explain why.

Nuralia Mazlan, a flight attendant for Air Asia explained: “My first airlines was a full-service carrier and it’s stressful to be working in business/first class.

All the extra works, the liaising with supervisory crews and flight deck crews, the “entitled” attitude of certain passengers; you’re always wondering who in your cabin is related to your CEO or royalties or etc.

“On the other hand, serving 100 in economy class is better than 16 in business class anytime for me.

“Passengers take their meal, don’t complain much, ask only a few other kinds of stuff, we do collection for their rubbish and voila! They’re done. Dim the cabin lights and get ready to sleep.”

Another aviation expert, Kerwin McKenzie agreed: “First class is more work as the passengers demand a lot more since they are paying more.

“I’ve seen people be really nasty to the crew for no reason or be quite demanding.”

Therefore next time when deciding to choose between a pricier seat or the budget option, a cheaper option could get a happier flight attendant.

Cabin crew members are often happy to divulge the secrets of the trade, recently revealing what they are thinking as passengers board the plane.

Many look to see if they have bought their own food, as they could be “waiting to pounce on that free meal” when boarding the plane.

It is also worth noting how able-bodied passengers are.

In the event of an emergency, it could help them to know who could assist in an emergency.
