  • Qatar said Saturday that it has not been in contact with the special counsel Robert Mueller or the US government “on any matters” or “any related investigations.”
  • The statement came after reports surfaced that Mueller is probing senior adviser Jared Kushner’s business dealings with foreign countries, including Qatar, during and after the presidential transition period.
  • Kushner’s interactions with various business and government leaders during his time as President Donald Trump’s adviser have come under a microscope in recent days.
  • A spokesperson for Kushner’s attorney denied any impropriety.

Qatar said in a statement Saturday that it has “not been approached” or “had any contact” with the special counsel Robert Mueller’s office, or with the US government, about the Russia investigation or any other matters.

The statement came after NBC News reported that Mueller’s team is investigating whether Kushner, who is President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, used his position as the White House senior adviser to benefit his family’s real estate business.
