Peter Andre: The one item musician travels with in his suitcase

Peter Andre has travelled a lot with his career and has strong familial ties to Cyprus and Australia. Consequently, the musician is well used to jet-setting both long and short haul and knows what he wants when he travels. Despite his fame and glamorous lifestyle, Andre reveals he still likes the simple things in life and relies on home comforts when away. And there’s one thing in particular he needs. The pop star told Express.co.uk that he’ll often pack a coffee machine in his suitcase.

Andre revealed he first got into the habit early in his career when he had a very hectic schedule and he relied on the caffeine to get him through a busy day.

“I take my coffee machine with me sometimes,” he told Express.co.uk. “I know it’s crazy.

“I’m doing it less and less now because everywhere you go has got coffee, but when I first started out I was doing a lot of travelling.

“We’d have music schedules that would be so intense and I’d have interviews back to back; I’d be so tired and I needed an espresso shot every so often. Some people need tequila, I prefer coffee.

The TV personality added: “It was one of those Nespresso machines and I used to pack them in my suitcase I’m not even kidding.”

Another crucial item to pack in your hand luggage is a travel plug, said the father-of-four.

“A travel plug is important because when you get to another country the worst thing is when there’s nowhere to plug your stuff in,” he explained.

However, Andre admitted the number one item he can’t travel without is his mobile phone.

The Harrow-born star joked the old adage of ‘testicles, spectacles, wallet and watch,’ is no longer relevant as everything these days is on your phone.

“As long as you’ve got your phone and credit card you are OK,” he said when asked about hand luggage essentials.

Katie Price’s ex-husband revealed packing is one of his least favourite parts of going away.

He said he does pack his own suitcase but his wife, Emily MacDonagh, 29, does occasionally repack his attempts at packing for his children.

“Emily is really good at the kids packing and organising the kids’ stuff,” he said.

“I try my best but Emily does what my mum would do where I would pack something and then she’d go and look at it and say “Can I just re-do it?’”

Andre’s next planned trip will be to Australia to see his parents, but he revealed his wife may be treating him to a holiday for Christmas.

“I’m very excited,” he said. “She asked me what I’d want if I went somewhere, and I said, ‘Honestly, one is to be with you, obviously, second is to have food – I don’t care what food it is or where it is, I just love food – and the third one is sleep. If I can get all of those three things I am a very happy guy.”

Travellers heading away this festive season need to be very careful not to do one thing in particular with their hand luggage.
