That’s according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, who claim the La Liga giants are targeting Lyon ace Nail Fekir instead.
Pogba has been tipped to be the driving force behind a new era of success under Jose Mourinho at United.
But his place at the club has come under scrutiny in recent weeks following a disagreement with his boss and the fallout from it.
Real has been touted as a potential destination for Pogba after they missed out on him to United back in 2016.
And speculation that all is not well between Pogba and Mourinho is unlikely to die down after the midfielder was benched against Sevilla.
However, the latest reports from Spain suggest Real will not be in the hunt for the 24-year-old’s signature this summer.
According to transfer rumour specialists Don Balon, Florentino Perez has a secret plan to get Real back on track.
But Pogba is not the man he wants to be the lynchpin on which the club form their new-look midfield.
Don Balon claim Perez has been in touch with Lyon ace Fekir over a summer move to the Bernabeu.
The France international has made clear his intention to leave the Ligue 1 outfit at the end of the season.
And he admitted he’d be keen to link up with Real boss Zinedine Zidane, saying: “If Zidane calls me tomorrow, I’ll go to him happy, I would never say no.”
Zidane could be facing the sack at what’s proved to be a bitterly disappointing campaign for Real.
Although Don Balon indicate that would not prove a stumbling block to Real’s pursuit of Fekir.
Pogba, meanwhile, will be hoping tonight’s omission is a plan to rest him ahead of United’s showdown with Chelsea on Sunday.
