Paper round-up: Arsenal takeover fails, Wenger new deal, West Ham eye Man Utd's Smalling

Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov has made a £1billion bid to take full control of Arsenal, however majority owner Stan Kroenke is reluctant to sell.

A source told the Financial Times: “Two weeks ago, I thought something could realistically happen. Now I am not so sure.”

While Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is prepared to stay at the Emirates, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Frenchman could remain at the club for another two years and is willing to accept changes in the footballing structure.  

Elsewhere, West Ham are interested in signing and manager Jose Mourinho could be willing to let the Englishman leave Old Trafford.
