Pagani Will Restore Your Zonda at the Factory

Although Horacio Pagani’s eponymous supercars can’t trace their history as far back as far as Lamborghini (Pagani’s former employer) does with its Polo Storico program, with some 137 Zondas built between 1999 and 2017, there’s still a sizable number of used supercars out there that perhaps could use some massaging at the factory.

It’s not as if Pagani is new to this task. Two years ago, the team at Modena restored Prototype 2, the Zonda known today as La Nonna (Italian for “grandmother”).

The oldest Zonda in existence, it has traveled more than 620,000 miles as a test vehicle, starting its career as a C12 in 1999. In later years, its 388-hp 6.0-liter M120 engine was swapped out for a 7.0-liter, and Pagani kept upgrading it with various new components all the way until the 760 series. The factory restored it for Horacio Pagani’s 60th birthday in 2015, tweaking it with a few features off the Cinque in spirit of its history.

Now that the company is joining the restoration business through Pagani Rinascimento, Horacio commented that “to bring back the light and the original splendor of these masterpieces, is a pleasure as well as a great responsibility.” And, some hard work, which will be tackled just one car at a time, with Pagani documenting the project through images, drawings, and technical data collected in a personalized Pagani Rinascimento book. Because collectors dig that.
