One dead as explosion rocks Egyptian city of Alexandria – reports

An explosion has rocked the coastal Egyptian city of Alexandria, reportedly killing one person and injuring at least three others.

The blast is said to have occurred near the Tolip Hotel in the city’s neighbourhood of Stanley. Early reports suggest that one person was fatally injured as a result of a car bomb.

A number of civil protection officers, firefighters, police and emergency services have reportedly arrived at the scene. Multiple Egyptian sources, citing eyewitnesses, report that the bomb targeted a convoy of cars as it traveled through the city.
