SAN FRANCISCO—Nvidia took the wraps off its long-expected GeForce GTX 1080Ti video card on Tuesday. Its existence may not have been a surprise, but its release window sure was: “next week.”

The $ 699 video card will launch with a whopping 3584 cuda cores, far exceeding the 2560 cores packed into the normal 1080, along with 11GB RAM (likely GDDR5X) and an 11Gbps framebuffer. Clock speeds were not confirmed, but Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang claimed the new card is “faster than a Titan X.” That card clocks in at 1,417MHz (though speed isn’t that pricier card’s only significant spec.)

Alongside the new $ 699 card, Huang also confirmed a price drop for the elder GTX 1080 model: starting at $ 499.
