He is expected to instead make his Intrust Super Cup debut next weekend. “It wouldn’t surprise me if he did,” Green said when asked if Bennett could blood Marshall.

Meanwhile, Tautau Moga came through Brisbane’s captain’s run unscathed on Thursday after failing to finish training last Sunday following a suspected heart scare. Broncos medicos ruled out a serious condition, putting it down to illness and stress, and Moga showed no ill-effects during the captain’s run.

Broncos teammate Josh McGuire failed to train on Tuesday with a minor injury but the Maroons hardman ran with the squad on Thursday, after signing a four-year contract extension on Wednesday. Alex Glenn (concussion) has been cleared.
