THE Cowboys finally have some respite on the injury front after backline trio Kane Linnett, Justin O’Neill and Antonio Winterstein all received positive news.

Linnett insists he will be fit to play in Saturday’s clash against the Dragons despite copping a knock to his leg in last week’s shock home loss.

Winterstein (broken forearm) got through a solid training session away from the main group on Tuesday and is edging closer to a return, while O’Neill (hamstring) makes his comeback this weekend.

“I’m a little bit sore but I should be right for the weekend,” Linnett said.

“I wouldn’t take the field if I didn’t think I could do my job. I’ll probably go through one (fitness test) later in the week, but I think it’ll be all good.”

The Cowboys have been hit hard by injuries this year, with the casualty ward also including Johnathan Thurston (calf), Matt Scott (ACL), Lachlan Coote (calf), Jake Granville (broken leg), Shaun Fensom (ankle), Ray Thompson (knee) and Josh Chudleigh (ACL).
