THE NBA dished out fines for two separate incidents that happened over the past week.

New Orleans Pelicans forward DeMarcus Cousins has been fined $ 50,000 for separate altercations with fans, the NBA said Thursday.

A statement from NBA executive vice president Kiki VanDeWeghe said the fine related to incidents on Sunday and Monday where Cousins directed “inappropriate language” at fans.

On Sunday, video footage caught Cousins trading barbs with fans at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where the Pelicans scored a 105-97 victory against the Lakers.

Cousins was heard uttering an obscenity at fans who had heckled him as “fat boy.” Then on Monday, following the Pelicans’ 88-83 loss to the Utah Jazz, Cousins snapped again with a fan shouting abuse.

PHOENIX Suns forward Jared Dudley and Washington Wizards guard Brandon Jennings were each fined $ 35,000 on Thursday by the NBA for their parts in an altercation between the teams, league officials announced.

The incident, which saw Dudley and Jennings each assessed technical fouls and ejected, took place with 10:45 remaining in the second quarter of Washington’s 131-127 victory on Tuesday at Phoenix.

Dudley was fined for escalating the altercation by confronting and making contact with Washington Wizards forward Jason Smith.

Jennings was fined for making menacing gestures on the playing court as part of the incident.

The Wizards are 39-24, third-best in the Eastern Conference, while the Suns, 21-43, rank second-worst in the Western Conference.
