DEAN Solomon’s stint as caretaker coach has suffered an immediate blow, with Suns skipper Tom Lynch’s season over because of a knee injury.
Lynch injured his PCL in the first marking contest of the match against Fremantle at Subiaco Oval last Saturday.
Suns football manager Marcus Ashcroft said tests had confirmed the worst for the reigning club champion.

“Usual circumstances would see Tom miss about a month of footy with the injury, but with just three matches remaining Tom won’t return this season,’’ he said.
Lynch has looked to be hampered by injury all year. The Suns had previously revealed a back injury was restricting the 2017 All-Australian.
Despite being below his best he has still booted 44 goals for the season.
Lynch’s knee was heavily strapped on Tuesday when he arrived at the club with the rest of the playing group to be told of the sacking of coach Rodney Eade.
Solomon will be sweating on successful fitness tests for David Swallow, Jarrod Witts, Jarryd Lyons and Callum Ah Chee ahead of the QClash.
