MAPPED: Best places to watch the fireworks on New Year’s Eve in the UK

There are a number of different places around the United Kingdom you can see New Year’s Eve fireworks. 

This include the famous Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh to the Capital’s annual firework display at Victoria Embankment. 

Cardiff Civic Centre

Head to Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland for the main event from which to view the fireworks on New Year’s Eve, which is known as Calennig.

Live music will play from the stage in front of City Hall from 7:30pm while the firework finale will happen at midnight.

Edinburgh Hogmanay18

Hogmanay is a world famous New Year’s Eve celebration in Scotland. 

A street party will take place in the city centre – one of the world’s biggest outdoor parties – where you can watch the fireworks from Edinburgh Castle.

Albert Square, Manchester

Some 10,000 people are expected to attend Manchester’s New Year’s Eve celebration in Albert Square.

The countdown will start from 10:30pm on the night, culminating at midnight with the beginning of a new year. 

There will be a no alcohol rule at this event, to tie in with its family friendly ethos. 

Victoria Embankment, London

This is an annual spectacular fireworks display over the London Thames River, which can be seen for miles all around.

Tickets are now sold out for the London New Year’s Eve Fireworks 2018 on the Thames Riverside. 

If you haven’t managed to get tickets to the ticketed display area in Victoria Embankment, there are a number of alternative places to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks in London

Nottingham Castle, Nottingham

There will be a party in the grounds of Nottingham Castle, followed by a fireworks display – and it’s free of charge to attend.

At this event there will be a limited capacity of 2,500 people so people will be allowed in on a first come, first served basis.
