8: Lucky. Pablo Zabaleta dithers and Marcus Rashford nicks it off him, but can’t control his second touch.

There was a bit of debate whether Jose Mourinho would start the youngster alongside Romelu Lukaku, but his displays in pre-season makes him essential in my book.

5: Slaven Bilic is wildly gesticulating already. If you can’t imagine what that looks like, imagine trying to help a lorry driver reverse into a tiny parking space.

3: Am I watching this match in fast-forward? Great tempo to the start of this match with the ball being pinged around everywhere. Joe Hart receives a backpass and very nearly hits it straight out of play. Not the most confident start from the Manchester City loanee.

1: MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 WEST HAM

We’re underway! You can imagine the wonderful reception Joe Hart and Pablo Zabaleta received from the United faithful…

15:58: The players are just emerging from the tunnel now folks. Old Trafford is jam-packed and the atmosphere is electrifying.

Ready for the final match of the week? Me neither, but I’m afraid it’s happening.

15:55: What?! I don’t approve of this.

West Ham striker Javier Hernandez admits he does not know if he will celebrate a debut goal against former club Manchester United.

The 29-year-old joined the Hammers from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, two years after he left United for the Bundesliga side.

“I don’t know if I will celebrate if I score at Old Trafford,” he said.

“It’s my old club, my old fans, my old stadium but it’ll be my first goal for West Ham.

“I am not thinking about the celebration, I just want to have the chance to start and get my team the result.”

15:50: Who’s making their competitive league debuts today then? Might be quicker to go through those who aren’t!

Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku, Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart will all be hoping to impress.

15:45: Jose Mourinho says more players need to chip in with goals this season.

I bloody hope they listen, I’ve got Henrikh Mkhitaryan in my Fantasy Football side…

Anyway, Mourinho knows they were over-reliant on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goals last season and wants more support for Romelu Lukaku.

“In my other clubs what I had was more players scoring goals,” he said. “Midfield players scoring goals, wingers scoring goals, central defenders good in the air scoring goals at set-pieces.

“We always had that so my teams always had the goalscorer, we always had the guy that scores more goals, but then we had the winger that scored 15 goals, we had the midfield player who scored 10 goals, we had the central defender that scored five goals.

“And last season that didn’t happen much – we were focused on the goals that our striker was scoring and when he was not scoring, the team was a little bit in trouble to win matches.”

Change:I have such a great feeling about this game. We’re about to put in the performance of the week.

The Happy Hammer:All about the performance today, a result would be great but let’s see a team playing for each other and the club.

Armand:Come on lads!! Ive been waiting too long to be disappointed!! Red Romelu, you better bag that brace son!

15:40: Analysis from our reporter Richard Tanner, at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has made five changes form the team that started the Super Cup clash with Real Madrid.

Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford are all in.

Out go Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Victor Lindelof.

The first four are named on the bench but there is no place in the squad for new boy Lindelof.

It means there are two players making their Premier League debuts for United – Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.

West Ham have four PL debutants with Slaven Bilic naming summer signings Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic, Pablo Zabaleta and Javier Hernandez in his team.

Hart, inevitably, was greeted with boos, jeers and cries of “City reject!” as he came out to warm-up.

“Little Pea” Hernandez received a far warmer reception after his four-year spell with United.

West Ham XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Noble, Obiang, Fernandes, Ayew, Arnautovic, Hernandez.

15:30: Good afternoon folks, sorry that I’m late to the party – I’ve just been finishing up with the match at St James’ Park.

Tottenham cruised to victory over Newcastle, and Manchester United will be hoping for a similar result against West Ham today.

But Slaven Bilic and his side aren’t just here to make up the numbers, they want to get points on the board early and are hoping Javier Hernandez can hurt his former employers.

Manchester United v West Ham: Romelu Lukaku has scored in seven of his last eight games against West Ham

MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS

Jose Mourinho has no fresh injury concerns heading into Manchester United’s Premier League opener against West Ham at Old Trafford.

Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo remain out as they continue to recover from long-term injuries sustained last season.

Eric Bailly and Phil Jones missed Tuesday’s UEFA Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid through suspension, but their continental suspension does not impact domestic matches.

WEST HAM TEAM NEWS

West Ham expect defender Aaron Cresswell to be available for today’s clash.

Captain Mark Noble has shaken off a minor toe problem which saw the midfielder miss a couple of day’s training, but Michail Antonio will not be involved as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Striker Javier Hernandez could feature against his old club, while fellow summer signings Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and teenager Sead Haksabanovic could also make their Hammers debut.

Forward Andy Carroll (groin), Diafra Sakho (back), midfielder Manuel Lanzini and Cheikhou Kouyate (both knee) all continue their rehabilitation.
