Manchester United welcomed Ibrahimovic back into the fray at the weekend, with the 36-year-old coming on in a 4-1 win over Newcastle.
Many are expecting big things of the veteran yet again with Ibrahimovic aiming to build on his 28-goal tally from last season.
However, manager Jose Mourinho faces a huge selection dilemma with Lukaku currently his preferred option up top.
But Yahoo Sport say that Manchester United gaffer Mourinho may turn the Belgium international into a winger in order to accommodate Ibrahimovic.
Many expect the Swede to take up the No10 role now he is fit again.
United have struggled in that department this season with Mourinho seemingly reluctant to trust Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in that role.
Ibrahimovic himself appeared to recently hint at a change of position by saying: “To me, number 10 is the star.
”The one who makes the difference, gets noticed, wins the matches and is the leader.
“And I see myself in that position but it is not something that is given to you, it is just something you are, that’s just the way it is.”
However, Yahoo Sport say Mourinho may adopt a similar approach to what he did with Samuel Eto’o while at Inter Milan.
Mourinho signed the striker from Barcelona with Ibrahimovic coincidentally heading in the opposite direction.
But though Eto’o was regarded as one of the best forwards in world football at the time, Mourinho played him out wide in order to get the best out of Diego Milito.
Mourinho may choose to do the same with Lukaku, who blossomed on the flanks when Everton beat Arsenal 3-0 in April 2014.
