Sanchez has cut a disgruntled figure at Manchester United this term and is one of several players who could engineer an exit from Old Trafford.
The Chilean has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and his future under Jose Mourinho took another turn for the worse on Tuesday night when he failed to make the substitutes’ bench in the 1-0 win over Young Boys in the Champions League.
Mourinho refused to explain Sanchez’s absence as he said: “No, Sanchez is not injured.
“But it is quite curious you always speak about the ones that are not playing.
“Tonight you had Marcus Rashford playing as a nine, that’s what you want, that’s what you ask all the time and you had.
“So don’t speak about Lukaku, who doesn’t score a goal at Old Trafford since March. And then you ask why he’s not playing.”
And it is understood Mourinho’s treatment of Sanchez has strengthened his desire to leave.
It is believed he has told pals he wants to leave and join PSG.
Having only joined United in January, Sanchez looks like being an expensive mistake.
Paul Ince slated Mourinho last week on Match of the Day 2 for the way he has used Sanchez.
“When United can’t score, bring Fellaini on, go long, Palace are set up for that,” he said.
“They are relying on luck, knock downs, Palace are set up for that.
“Paying Sanchez half a million pounds, and not to be a quarterback. Playing long ball.
“We don’t want him like that, we want him in the 18-yard area.”
Currently, United are 14 points adrift of Premier League pacesetters Manchester City.
Mourinho’s men will look to get back to winning ways in the league against Southampton (5.30pm).
