Manchester United tried to sign Sanches a year ago with Jose Mourinho an admirer of the Portugal international.
However, Louis van Gaal was in charge at the time and his departure meant Bayern Munich were able to steal a march and sign him instead.
Sanches’ move to Bayern has since backfired spectacularly with the Portugal international only managing to make 25 appearances across all competitions.
His inconsistencies over in Germany has again led to talk that Manchester United could be about to renew their interest in the 19-year-old.
And The Sun claim Mourinho is close to striking a deal that will see the youngster finally make the move to Old Trafford.
It is said that United are close to agreeing a loan move – 12 months after first missing out on him.
Mourinho is hopeful he can coax the best out of his compatriot – and will no doubt be praying Sanches can be the answer to his midfield problems.
