Manchester United are reportedly lining up a move for Tottenham ace Eric Dier in the summer.
Dier was linked with a move to Chelsea in January.
But according to The Sun, Mourinho is ready to try his luck at the end of the season and make a £35million move.
A club source told the paper: “United are interested in Dier, and looked at making a move for him in the January transfer window.
“Obviously that didn’t come off, but Mourinho has him on a list of targets for the summer. He likes him.
“Tottenham do not want to sell him under any circumstances, but you never know what can happen when the money is on the table.”
United are considering making a double swoop for Real Madrid duo Raphael Varane and Toni Kroos in the summer.
Mourinho is thought to have big plans for the transfer window.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, the Portuguese wants to sign both players.
It is said he is confident of revitalising Varane at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford thinks Mourinho should be playing him up front.
The 19-year-old, who burst onto the scene last year, has played left wing at times this term.
But Rashford has sent a message to his boss.
“I have played down the middle, I’ve learned off the right and off the left and these are little steps that are making me a better player,” he told Sky Sports.
“If someone can play in more than one position, it’s beneficial to you, your manager and your team-mates.
“Jose has given me the opportunity to learn my trade in different positions. It’s something that is needed in modern-day football.”
