Sturridge transfer ultimatum

06:00: Sky Sports reporter Guillem Balague has claimed Liverpool are only interested in letting Daniel Sturridge go if he chooses Inter Milan over Sevilla.

Balague claims Inter have offered more money for a short-team loan deal and Liverpool are prepared to keep the forward if he refuses to move to Italy.

“Liverpool have pushed to Sturridge that Inter could be the place to go if he wanted to go but they’d rather keep him,” Balague said.

“The idea being they are still in three competitions and they would like to keep him.

“But the way that Liverpool put it to Sturridge is ‘it’s either Inter or you stay’.”

Klopp involved in bust-up with fan

05:30: Jurgen Klopp has apologised for letting his emotions get the better of him by arguing with a Swansea fan during Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat last night.

A furious Klopp labelled his side’s performance as “just not good enough” in his post-match interview.

His frustration was also visible during the match when he reacted to a Swansea fan goading him and his side.

But Klopp has now issued an apology for over-reacting, explaining he shouldn’t have taken notice of the overzealous supporter.

“He was shouting at me all the time,” Klopp said.

“Sorry, I reacted one time, I remind myself I am a human being and not a professional manager who takes that all the time and they can say whatever they want.”

Emre Can replacement targeted

05:00: Liverpool are preparing for the possible departure of Emre Can by monitoring Leandro Paredes’ situation at Zenit Saint Petersburg.

That’s according to Transfermarketweb, who claim Liverpool are losing faith Can will sign a contract extension.

His current deal expires at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Juventus.

And it is suggested Paredes could be considered as Can’s replacement.

Leon Goretzka was another player Liverpool had been targeting, but he has since agreed to join Bayern Munich.
