Saturday sees the qualifying session of the weekend ahead of the 250km Race 5 of the 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

Chaz Mostert set a new Supercars lap record at Phillip Island during an eventful Friday practice which saw three cars suffer tyre failures, one of which pitched Craig Lowndes into a 200km/h crash from which he escaped injury.
