The Cavs (8-7) recorded their third win on the bounce – the first time they have done so this season.
Besides notching up eight assists and six rebounds in the space of 37 minutes, James finished the match with 31 points to his name.
Kevin Love also added 22 points and 10 rebounds of 9-of-16 shooting.
However, there was a worry towards the end of the game when James twisted his right ankle.
Despite his injury, James was quick to salute his team-mate Frye, who scored nine points and eight rebounds.
He said: “He’s a perfect team-mate.
“He does whatever you ask him to do.
“He’s the same person every single day.
“He always keeps the locker room going in a great direction.
“He keeps everybody enjoying themselves.”
The Cleveland Cavaliers face LA Clippers next tomorrow.
