The journalist goes on to label Embiid’s new deal as a ‘complex’ contract as the 76ers would have to waive the superstar for him not to reap the full rewards of his extension.
Embiid was named as a first-team All-Rookie last season with 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
The 76ers are hopeful Embiid can be one of the big cornerstones of the franchise for the future along with Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz.
