The San Siro club are willing to hand their winger a mega pay rise to block his switch to the Premier League.
Manchester United want to sign Perisic but have so far not met Inter’s £48million release clause.
Reports yesterday claimed United have until Friday next week to make a suitable offer or Inter will take Perisic off the market.
The Croatia international is Jose Mourinho’s top transfer target heading into the last month of the window.
But Inter are determined to keep their man and will rewards him handsomely for his loyalty.
That is according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who claim the 28-year-old has been offered a new four-year deal worth £5.42m a season.
Over the course of the contract he can expect to pick up £21.7m.
And that boils down to just over £104,000 a week – a significant pay rise for the player.
Perisic’s current deal lasts until 2020, so Inter are under no pressure to sell their star just yet.
Mourinho has targeted the winger as he seeks to add firepower to his new-look attacking unit this season.
Romelu Lukaku is the £75m arrival from Everton who will spearhead the attack, with Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard all vying for starting places.
There are reports Martial himself could be used in some sort of deal to bring Perisic to Old Trafford, although there has been little progress on that proposal.
