Instead of Running a Super Bowl Ad, Ford Is Pulling People around Minneapolis in a Sleigh that Looks Like a Dumpster

Ford isn’t spending the big bucks on a Super Bowl commercial this year, but it has come up with a different way to self-promote around football’s biggest event of the year—in addition to paying to be called the Official Truck of the game, that is. It’s providing free transportation between NFL events in Minneapolis leading up to Super Bowl LII—but doesn’t the “Built Ford Tough” sleigh that’s being pulled around by an F-150 look suspiciously like some sort of modified waste-management container?

If you want to ride around in one of Ford’s people dumpsters—each holds up to 18 folks—you can find them running around downtown Minneapolis through tomorrow, February 3, going between a stop at Eighth Street and Marquette and another at 12th Street and Second Avenue. It looks cold to us, and maybe a little bit lacking in the safety department. But, hey, it beats walking, right?
